I expect a lot from Sega now. Not only is Generations a perfect marriage of 2D and 3D Sonic, but Sonic CD is possibly the best retro re-release to ever hit the Xbox Live Arcade/PSN

This right here should sell anyone who hasn't play Generations yet. This stage is mind blowingly awesome. See if you can keep up with the blue blur 8)

Part of me cant help but think that the new graphics engine = generation's engine. This would explain why it isn't on the Wii.

I am sure if you bought Episode 1 on the Wii you would prefer to keep all the episodes on the same console, bit of a slap in the face for people with Wii's who bought Episode 1.

^LOL. I do feel the same way. Nothing really compares to Sonic 1 through Knuckles. To me, that's the be all and end all of Sonic games, although the ones for the 8-bit systems and Genny add-ons were ok too.

i'm not really interested in this game to be honest. i'm currently playing sonic generations & sonic cd on xbla; i can't see this doing a better job than either of them..not to mention episode 1 wasn't even that great. i can imagine it having a tough sell to a lot of people down the road for the same reasons; i can't see people wanting that much sonic in 1 year.

Hmm, I'm surprised that I haven't heard of a Sonic the Hedgehog 2 ROM hack recreating Sonic 4.

I am beside myself with amazement. I have always seen the Sonic series as a continual decline in quality since Sonic 1, though all of the Genesis games are great by any measure. (I once posted this and caught some flack.) Sonic Generations has completely floored me, as I figured there would never be a decent Sonic console game after 1994 and certainly never one that included any 3D elements. Episode 1, more than any previous game, practically confirmed those fears since it WAS 2D but STILL got the physics and design wrong - it sucked. Sonic Generations isn't just a reverse course, it is a call back to anything and everything I ever liked about the original Sonic trilogy.

I do have E1 on the Wii, I was just trying to figure out (other than its a dying console) why it wasn't on the Wii.
You are right though... once I heard it was going to not be on the Wii I contemplated buying E1 for my PS3 just to have them all together.
