I used to like WRPGs just as much as JRPGs in the 90s, but both genres have declined severely. I think WRPGs have went downhill a bit further though.

Oblivion is possibly the most boring game I've ever played, I would not be surprised to hear that forcing people to play the game for hours was used as a form of torture. To know that people are able to get some kind of enjoyment out of Bethesda's games is completely mind blowing to me. Having said that though, I understand anyone could say the very same about the archaic JRPGs of that past that I love so much. To each his own.
