SF IV gives you options to parry projectile spam as well. In fact, I can't believe I forgot to mention the greatest way of all to deal with that problem in SF IV. Focus cancel.vlame wrote:Damned turtle! That's why I love 3rd strike, parry that projectile spam and make those turtles rage quit!

Play as Guile.
Do what Mark does (spam projectiles, up-spinkick when approached).
Figure out how people advance on you. Then, do that to Mark.

Many characters have a move that goes through projectiles, Blanka and Dhalsim have a slide kick, Zangief has a spin punch, etc. You can also double dash forward to keep them close enough that it's dangerous for them to use a projectile due to being open to a jump kick. And, the force attack, if timed properly, can cancel a projectile. It takes a lot of practice to beat the turtle technique, but if you get really good at fighting up close and have a few tricks up your sleeve to get in close, then the turtlers usually crumple because they aren't used to hand-to-hand combat.
