I can't for the life of me remember exactly WHY I thought it was a good idea to do that.
I couldn't stop laughing when I read this one. My brother and I did the same thing with an electric race track as a kid and my dad had to keep replacing fuses and couldn't figure out what was going on. We thought the bright spark was cool, it put a black mark on the wall. Must have been a Beavis and Butthead moment. Huhu, that was cool.
Passing up a NEW, SEALED copy of Power Stone 2 (Dreamcast)! at $25 in 2002. Now goes for twice - 3x that in good condition on Ebay. Didn't realize how rare it was back then

I did the same with my electric train track. It made me feel like the Emperor in Return of the Jedi.

Worked as a store manager for a little known chain in the Twin Cities. I bought used games from bored kids all day and barely made enough to keep the store open. Anyways, I was working one day and a dude came in with a grocery bag of Sega CD games to trade in. Not just any games, GOOD RARE titles. So I went ahead and bought them all for the store. Many were good classics, but I was enamored with all the Working Designs games so much that I put a CIB Snatcher on the sales floor. A day later I COMPLETELY realized my mistake and grabbed the box off the shelf only to feel it give. The game had been promptly stolen without notice Who and how remains a mystery to me. The second part of this mistake was that not only did the game get stolen, but the Box and Instructions were likely tossed when I had my back turned when we moved the store.....
1. had SNES on switch in the ON position and the flap was closed, didnt realize that when you turn the switch on it locks the game in position if there is one in there, so since no game was in there and the flap was closed i couldnt get the flap to go down, so i took a screw driver to it, and wasnt till later that i realized the on switch was in the on postion lol...... ended up breaking the spring and the flap never went back up...

I once thought mine was broken, too, but luckily I noticed it before doing anything drastic like taking a screwdriver to it! In my defense, it had just gone through a move, and so it wouldn't be inconceivable that something broke. Plus, I heard a rattling, which I hadn't heard before. Didn't last long, though, before I realized how much of an idiot I was.
I'm playing metroid prime 2, i need to get to a certain switch... been looking for that switch for like 3 days now because i don't want to watch a walkthrough, right now i said fu** it and watch it, this is the thing i have to do, and i pass this part like 100 time looking for... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TWP2LwYb ... lf=rellist
