From Demand Progress:
Wow -- That was close: After threatening to hold a vote this week, the House Judiciary Committee just cancelled tomorrow's hearing on SOPA!

WASHINGTON POST: The House Judiciary Committee confirmed Tuesday that it will delay continuing debate on the Stop Online Piracy Act until after Congress returns from its winter recess.

Way around SOPA if the madness happens, as well as being a way to point out that it is futile.

List of companies supporting SOPA, in case someone wants to write letters or update their boycott list.

The gang's all here.
Since this signature affects old posts, I'm leaving a message here in case anyone searches for my username. This account died in early 2013. I am no longer a fundamentalist.

Don't add to my problems by pretending my past views are still held in the present. I do not have any patience for that. Feel free to ask me what I think now.

A few that I don't get...

Go Daddy - Are they insane? How can they not realize the headache and bullshit it would cause?

L'Oreal & Revlon - I'm not sure how this would help cosmetic companies.

Yeah, I noticed the L'Oreal thing. Very odd.

That is a head scratcher. Maybe they've figured out a way to profit from the headache and bullshit. Can they charge a fee to the government to block a domain? Maybe they figure people will hop domain hosts more often which will give them opportunities? Hard to say.

This one's easy. Cosmetics are pretty commonly counterfeited. I'm sure they'd like to be able to shut down websites they think are selling fake product in a timely manner.

Ah all right. Doubt it would make much of a dent though, like with anything else.
