I started a new batch and they are doing fine, the surley little nits. Problem is, the week after next I'm going on vacation for a week. This leaves me with a few choices:
1. take the Dreamcast with me and keep up with the critters.
2. let them croak (pun intended), it's only a game. (But I hate being scolded by Nimoy.)
If I take them with me, the wife will likely witness me talking to a video game creature and she's already concerned about my sanity. If I let them croak, I'll have to start over with new eggs (the current critters are nearly 2 months old) or abandon the game altogether. I wish there was a "vacation" button on the game which would cryo-freeze the critters while you take a hiatus from the game for a while.
I suppose I could hire that hot neighbor girl to feed them while I'm gone, but they'd probably decide to leave me and move in with her while I was gone and I'd come home to an empty house.I also don't think it would go over well if I told the wife I was leaving my Seamen with the neighbor girl.
If you want your wife to do some thing with your Seaman on the trip, then leave the Dreamcast at home.

I read somewhere that it's not possible to trick the game by doing that though I've never really tried it myself.[/quote
I can confirm that this works. I forget to feed and care for the seamen for a couple of days so I turned back the clock. I guess it is cheating put that is what is so cool about virtual pet. No unnecessary death.
