Au contraire, I think MvC 2 is the better game.
b..b...buutttt... WHAT is it that bothers you about 3?

They saw how good TvC was but fucked it all up when trying to bring it over to ps3. The game is noob friendly, x-factor is dumb, controls isn't like MvC 2 (TvC controls doesn't suit this game imo), and several characters like Hayato and Gambit were omitted, only to be replaced with Wesker and Deadpool for example :|

Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter is the best in the series tho  .

I haven't played too many games released in 2011, so my list may seem odd since these are the games that have already dropped in price cause I'm cheap.

Best:
Portal 2 PC: See everyone else's reasons
Thor NDS: A WayForward 2D beat em up that pleases the retro and comic book gamer. Yes it is a good game unlike the 360/PS3 versions.
Bit.Trip Runner PC: It came out in 2010 for the Wii, but I got the PC/Steam version that came out in February 2011 and it is fun and addictive.

Worst:
Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters Wii: This game is just a big screen version of the 3DS game... lame. It feels like a low-res handheld game on a big screen. The game itself isn't too bad for a Metroidvania clone on a DS, but on the Wii it's crap.

I'm not a fan of MvC 3 either. Don't get me wrong, it's without question a fun game, but I have several complaints.

The noob friendliness of the game pretty much killed it for me. The combos are stupidly easy to pull off, X-Factor is flat out ridiculous, it mashes as easy (or easier) post SC 1 Soul Calibur, the 2.5D is rather ugly (which is unacceptable given how beautiful TvC was), and I dunno. It just doesn't feel like a well made fighter. TvC destroys it. However, I do believe it's better than MvC 2, solely due to the fact that MvC 2 is an unbalanced copy pasta joke (yes yes I know that's the allure). MvC 3 is impressive for being built from the ground up with such a large roster, but, that's probably why the gameplay suffers so much. Too ambitious, especially when stacked up against the 2D fighter king this gen, BlazBlue.

I agree with most of peoples responses for best game of the year. Mortal Kombat, Arkham City, Marvel vs Capcom 3, etc. Is nobody going to say Homefront as worst game? Duke Nukem Forever at least is a novelty. Homefront on the other had is the one of the most unsatisfying and shoddy made FPS I have seen in a while.

I am playing it right now and am about half way through the campaign, and other than the fact that it is going to be short, I don't see why it gets so much hate. It is already more interesting and better looking than BF3's campaign.

I like BlazBlue a lot. But still prefer MvC3. I don't know. I admit it is very n00b friendly. But perhaps that is part of the appeal. It's a good pick-up-and-play fighter. Though, I do personally like the way it looks quite a bit. It was nice seeing Morrigan properly redone rather than another re-used sprite.

Everyone has their own preference, and I think it's absolutely great that the fighting genre has gotten so many great new games these past few years, and has been able to cater to many interests and play styles.

The noob friendly/pick up and play aspect of the game is definitely one of it's strengths, but that's just not quite my style. I like having to spend hours mastering the nuances of my character, and being pit against other players that have had to do the same to get a hold of how their character works. At the same time, I can see how this would be completely unappealing to other players. It's worth a mention to say that I'm a die-hard Guilty Gear fan, so much of my bias for BB comes from that.
