Nintendo Power can suck it

Post by glynnahab »

Remember all the hype over this? Mystery Moon

All the while I was hoping for an Earthbound release on the VC, or Mother 3 in the States. And it turns out to be a Castlevania for the DS. Whoopdie doo. Thanks for hyping up nothing, Nintendo Power.

Now I like the Castlevania series as much as the next person, but I really don't think it's worth all the hype. I mean, there have been countless Castlevania games released over the past few years. The internet community is partly responsible for this. (Not here though, I don't think I noticed a single mention of it here.)

Shows what can happen when you get optimistic about something...

Eeh Nintendo Power hardly ever gets any real scoops.
The only one I can think of in recent history that they had a jump on was the new NiGHTS game for the Wii.

I dunno... I thought it was pretty sweet. I still have Dawn of Sorrow in my DS, and I hear this new one will be more like that than Portrait of Ruin.

I'm sure it will be a good game. Most in the series are. I was just expecting something mind-blowing and important. A new Castlevania release just isn't that big of a deal.

I have read about Earthbound recently being given an ESRB rating, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I'd much rather pay $8 for it on the VC than around $100 for the cartridge.

Reproduction carts are a lot lower than $100, real protos are way over $100

Playstation: The Official Magazine is good, so is GameInformer and Electronic Gaming Monthly, but alot of them suck, I agree.
