I like the part best where he told Hobie to "blow on some cartridges" and that he has a "noob collection."

I can see you're going to be a fine addition to the board with many helpful insights.

While glitches can be cool, I'd rather not have this thread inspire someone to spend an entire evening with their pile of 100 Genesis games popping them in and out without turning the power off and end up ruining something and then whining "Those fuckers at Racketboy made me blow up my Genesis!"
while your at it learn how to spell "prerogative."
Hey, if we're going to pick nits, I made one typo. I'm noticing a distinct lack of capitalization and a missing apostrophe in your post. But we're usually not Grammar Nazis here unless something is really terrible.

Back on topic, here's an archived thread from Sega-16 with come glitches. They used to have an article, but it appears it was probably lost in one of the hacks to the site. If you notice, TmEE posts a way you could kill a cart and a mention of a way to fix it. If they know a fix, then there's an example of something being broken.

Don't take friedrice007 seriously. He has a bad sense of humor and can be pretty pissy. I also edited the first post with a disclaimer noting that racketboy isn't responsible to any damage to anyones system.

I never found these types of "glitches" to be all that interesting. From what I understand happens, you play one game and yank it out, but some data is still in the console's RAM. So when you put another cart in there, it gets fucked up. By random chance you can find a nice effect, or glitch, but it's not like you can't do the same thing with a Game Genie code or a hacked ROM. Why run the risk of unnecessary harm? I'm gonna side with Hobie on this. While carts are usually pretty resilient and can take a fair about of abuse, this is not something I'll be trying. You'd be surprised just how easy it is to damage something if you do the right thing.

Damage aside, this little trick is a relic. It was pretty neat back then, but now there's just no point. Go on eBay and buy a Game Genie for five bucks.

If you wanna run the risk of damage, however unlikely, that's cool. Nine times out of ten I can run across the street with my eyes closed and end up on the other side unscathed. But all it takes is that one time.

I agree with you. I just found this glitch on someone else's system upon accident. I felt that I should share it with others, rather than keeping it to myself. I definately don't do this to my Genesis. I hold my Genesis dear to my heart. I might consider trying this on a spare system, but if someone else wants to try this, or likes this kind of thing, be my guest. I shared this glitch for people that like these glitches. And for the record, I already have a Game Genie.

If you guys want to hasten the death of your stuff I guess that's your perogative. I'll point and laugh when you are looking for another one and will be sad that a console is broken. I'll also remember to never trade with you so I don't get damaged stuff or send things off to be abused.

Considering your poor grasp of spelling and grammar displayed in your 11 posts so far, I would say you are well on your way to fame and glory. You don't happen to paint your game consoles (especially PS2s), do you?
