Streets of Rage Music Sampled In This Hip Hop Track

Post by molotovwars »

So, I was going through some music the other day and heard this track, and was like holy shit I'm positive this is from Streets of Rage.

The song is Doug Lazy - Let It Roll

here's a download link, and zshare should let you listen without having to download

I was hoping for some sort of confirmation that this song was in Streets of Rage. Anyone else hear it? or is it just me?

I'm thinking its from Streets of Rage 2 song, maybe from the first or second stage, at like the 3rd part of a level when you enter a bar, something like that. If it is from SOR and anyone has the .mp3 that would be dope too. Well, let me know what you think and enjoy.

I can't listen to it at work but I'll check it out later. I gotta say, I've been a big fan of hip-hop most of my life and I've never heard of this dude. Then again I'm coming up on 30 and I may be a little out of touch lately.

I just listened to Streets of Rage 2 yesterday again. I don't hear the similarity. This beat is just too generic to begin with.

Well Doug Lazy first dropped this track back around 89 I believe, so if you didn't hear him then you definitely wouldn't hear him now.

but really Mozgus, no similarity? I'll upload the better quality version because when I first heard the song start immediately my mind went to SOR

[EDIT]: better version has been added to first post

Yeah I think there was 100's of other songs back then that sounded more similar to this than the SOR soundtrack does. I'm just not hearing it.

doug lazy? lol, man your taking it back. i have that album, Streets of rage certainly has that house music vibe going on, i don't even have to hear it again but i believe you, i remember back in the day i thought the streets of rage soundtrack was awesome, definitely good for it's time. But yeah, they do sound similar. i didn't think anyone would ever pick up on that.

Many times elements are sampled that aren't even recognizable unless under great scruitiny. Certain parts could be used... doesnt mean its going to be exact.
