[quoteI've actually got a bunch of dreamcasts right now to . So I'm not desperate to get one, I just don't have one in its box.

Yeah i hear ya! i think i'm on my 12 of 13th one (just found got one today). I need to stop. Oh and i have a NEW one. Bought mine a few years back for $55. But that was way back. These days, $100 seems to be the fair asking price around for a new one.

Ah, I don't have that many. I know I at least have three for my collection, maybe three broken for parts and possibly five or six to sell.

Ah I don't count broken DC's. BUT I do have 1 that crapped out on me. I'm so glad I ended up keeping it for parts. Saved my pink DC recently that way :)

Yeah, I don't have many. Most don't seem to break. I think the parts from one broken unit provided parts to fix 3-4 other units.

Makes me so happy to know, really :D

Thats another in multitude of reasons I love the DC. Its SO simple to take the console apart and put it back together. Very well built system!

The prices seem to be going up. A good part of the sellers are also collectors and know the market. As well as Amazon and are asking for ridiculous prices. I was at a flea market 2 weeks ago which had a NIB DC he wanted 140 and would not come down in price. At last second he offered to knock $10 off. I have 3 units myself including my original launch day unit. She still works however sometimes she gets a little naggy on me. I purchased a 3rd(used) unit 3 weeks ago for $25 with controller and 2 vmu's.
Curtsy when you walk by that Dreamcast

Seriously? 140?!

Maybe I need to change my valuations. This thread has taught me its ok to have more than one DC, and perhaps that is why the NIB units are going up in price -- everyone has 10 or more at home unboxed!

No, your values are fine. Fleamarkets are usually terrible places to buy games. The people running those termite infected booths always think their game consoles are crafted in gold.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Wow, where do you store all 13? I have my original (early model), and I bought another white one at a fleamarket over the summer with a couple controllers for $25 (as a back up since I played a lot of CDRs on my original 10 years ago). Just recently got a Sports set as my third (and the one I will keep out because of the color).
