Stupidest Moments in Retro Gaming History

Post by senseiman »

I could quite possibly be the biggest idiot on the face of the planet:

http://famicomblog.blogspot.com/2011/12 ... -roar.html

Eight months of work to repair a retro console that seemed to be broken. Eight long months. Then my wife, who knows nothing about game consoles comes along and fixes it in five seconds. Five seconds!

Anybody else able to top that with an even better tale of your own retro gaming stupidity? Or that of someone you know? If there were a Darwin Award for retro gamers, I think I would win it hands down.

Bwahahaha. I remember The pong machine we had when I was little would let you send the paddles all the way off the screen as well. As long as it was figured out and nobody got hurt right?

I'm sure I've done many stupid things, but I'm apparently still managing to block them out of my mind right now.

Vlame - LOL, yeah, somebody might actually want to buy it!

Hobie Wan - Yes, block those memories out of your mind;) I didn`t have a pong machine when I was a kid so I wasn`t aware of that `going off the edge of the screen` thing!

vlame - that sounds brutal!

hashiriya1 - true, I was drawing an analogy to the stupid requirement of the Darwin award rather than the dead part!

noiseredux - thanks!

I use to (and on occasion) totally screw up names on who makes what games.
For example saying the publisher made the game instead of the actual studio, developer, programmers etc names.I was really confused about this as I would just buy a game and be like this is cool who made this?

So whatever name was on the box Id just assume. :?
If you can see the future while remembering the past, you may just have control of the present.
