PlayStation Minis thread

Post by noiseredux »

So I'm a pretty big fan of PS Minis. If you're unfamiliar, they're basically PSN indie games. They're usually very cheap. And they're sharable between your PSP and PS3. So I though how about a thread to recommend the good ones to each other and keep each other away from the bad ones?

Where Is My Heart?

A recent release that Racket suggested in another thread. This game is honestly just beautiful. It's a 2D platformer where you must solve a single screen at a time. You have three characters with different abilities you can position and swap control of. But here's the tricky thing -- the screen is scrambled. You step out of a panel on the bottom left and find yourself in one in the top right falling into a pit. It's adorable, and difficult, and disorienting, and rewarding. Though a bit pricier than a lot of Minis ($6), it's TOTALLY worth it.

Angry Birds

You already know if you like Angry Birds or not. It's Angry Birds. For PSP and PS3. I think it's about $2. It's fun.

A Space Shooter for 2 Bucks!

Tiny little ships with tiny little bullets make up this tiny little shmup. It's not the greatest shooter in the world, but it's certainly worth $2.

From the looks of the screens I saw, I thought this was going to be a scrolling horizontal shooter. Instead, it turned out to be a weird single screen shooter -- kind of along the lines of Fantasy Zone. I can't really recommend it.

There is a load more I play but these always stick.

other notables could be:

Snooker
Tetris
Car Jack City-gta clone more gta 2 than 3
N.O.V.A-awesome looking game and very halo influenced.

You can pick both games up in one of those mini's compilations (Which come with a voucher for PSN), down here you can find them in discount bins for like $5 each.

Yeah. Mega Mini's Volume 3 has Who's that flying and Volume 1 has Monsters.
That is provided the same games are included in the States.

I wish those collections came out here. I didn't know vouchers were included as well.

Who's That Flying is so awesome. Very funny and fun. It's also very difficult to get all the medals. You really should check it out.
