Yuh, the endgame is the fortress of solitude raid. You get to team up with Luthor and Superman, and you get to fight Zod.
Free players have have access to the same campaigns as premium (players who bought a dlc) and legendary (those who pay monthly). No quest/raid/instance/mission is locked for the free players (except for the DLC quests, which you will hardly miss unless you want the extra character class that comes with it). Availability of the campaigns depends on your character's level.
By the time you reach level 26-30 and got yourself decent equips - which you will do automatically unless you're not picking up drops - you'll find yourself going on instances and raids with premium and legendary players, and they're not going to have any advantage over you. In fact, you'll be hard pressed to distinguish a free player from a subscriber unless you ask them. It's not like WoW, where subscribers are decked out in gear that is unavailable to you (not to mention free players in WoW have level caps, so you're going to be left in the dust unless you pony up the money).
anyone having trouble getting the PC version of the game to run? I was out for a few days playing the Star Wars beta, and when I came back to DCUO, it crashes every time I try to play it.

I've had something similar for the past few days, but I can pinpoint the exact time when it crashes - it happens when I alt tab to the desktop.
yeah that seems to happen to me. I can't even get to the char select screen. It just loads indefinitely, so when I alt tab to do something else, it crashes.
I just tried to finally load up the PSN version. I installed it and started it up, but it says it has to now install the game assets... which it estimates at around 11 hours.
I've been meaning to hop on and play, I love the DCU in the comics, and I'm looking forward to starting on the PS3. I downloaded the game and all the updates, now I just need to load it up and start, which I may do on Monday since I have the day off.
I got the free downloaded version. And I was very frustrated. It looked like it could have been a very cool game. But I can't get past how the camera is mapped to the mouse-movement. It's such a frustrating and jerky control scheme.
I've noticed DC Universe can be had for under $10 on eBay now (brand new) and across the board the price has really dropped. I believe it is still just $5 to be upgraded when you play online (otherwise free).
I've always been intrigued by this game from playing comic book themed AD&D growing up.
Anyone still playing? Can I team up with Batman or something?
