There's a solid update of animation through-out the series from the shallow beginnings of Stage 1 to the solid racing animation in Stage 4.

EDIT: Also, Funimation >>>>>>> Tokyopop
I cant help think of Initial D every time i see one of those comericals for that godawful Fast and the Furious Tokyo Drift.

I can just imagine all the D fans furrowing their brows in rage at the line "hot new form of racing tacking over the tokyo underground"

Silly fast and the furious, it wasn't new when Initial D came out. :D

If you guys want some slightly sci-fi racing, Cyber Formula GPX is a pretty fun series.

I have this series. Only came out in the US subbed.

Still a nice early 90's anime racing title.

You'll root for the main character all the way.

Yeah, I can't say I was too big on the sequel OVA's though (there was quite a bit, not sure if they were licensed too?). Where the drama kind of took over the sport. They even got super lazy with the racing, it was the same damn track throughout each OVA pretty much and all the side characters got washed away. The whole pit crew was awesome in the main series and yeah, it was just more fun and high spirited.

Still the OVA's aren't terrible, but the main series is where it's at.

Just finished the first 3 Gundam Unicorn movies, and wow this is pretty good. Not the biggest Gundam fan really but this is great. The upcoming PS3 game is sounding better and better too.

Right now I am watching Last Exile.

Seen it in bits and pieces on TV and online, but now I want to see it completely in order.

Liking the visuals and stuff.

When I finish this series, I got Samurai Champloo ready to be played next.

That reminds me, I need to finish that series. I got part way through it then....I got distracted I guess. Also recently got the complete series of Trigun (I had the first disk and then Geneon went *Poof!* and they got harder for me to track down for some reason) and Excel Saga for Christmas :D Oh, and I picked up a flawless 2 disk set Kiki's Delivery Service at a thrift store and a Paprika UMD at Gamestop. My cup of new things to watch doth overflowith. But I think the next think I'll watch will be Berserk.

Ghost in the Shell (The anime series, not the movie) worth a watch? My brother has been raving about it recently.

I'd say it's worth a watch. Don't know if you've seen either movie, but they're a bit different from the series so it's kind of hard to compare. It does air on Cartoon Network at 3:30am most Saturday nights, so if you're curious as to whether you'll like it or not you can watch/dvr a couple episodes. Season 2 will be starting soon and watching season 1 isn't really a prerequisite.

Eden Of The East is pretty awesome. 11 episodes, 2 movies so far. Also, Detective Conan. It's still running and as a mystery nut I've gotta say the cases just get better and better.
