What are your picks for the best/worst games of 2011?

Hmmm... I don't feel like I'm qualified to answer because there are so many games I haven't played from 2011. Portal 2 would definitely make my list. But otherwise, I'm just starting to get around to playing games like Deus Ex: Human Revolution, The Witcher 2, Bastion, and LA: Noire. It's too soon to tell if those are at the top of my list or not, though they are all quite promising. I can probably make an indie specific list after I play a bit more of Bastion to know if it's in the top 5 or not.

Were there any new DS or PSP games this year that weren't ports of some sort? I remember Parasite Eve 3 coming out and....that's about it.

Digital-only new release of the year: NBA Jam On Fire Edition - they finally fixed the most niggling problems from the retail release of NBA Jam (TAG mode FTW!) and put this out at the right price.

Resistance 3
Killzone 3
Modern Warfare 3 (which is like COD 23)
Battlefield 3 (which is like BF game 14)
FEAR 3

I think that's it. Sadly no Half-Life 3

I'm planning a big blog post myself to go over my favorite games of the year (including re-releases and digital downloads). I haven't gotten it all together yet, though. But spoiler #1: Catherine is easily my GOTY. Spoiler #2, dsheinem will probably disagree with the entire list.

For some reason I didn't get into Catherine due to obsessing over fighters like BB CS over the summer but it is tremendous for the couple of hours I played.. I need to get back to it once I get Demon's Soul done.. I want to get everything cleared for FF XIII-2 on the 31st of January.. :O I just bought Star Ocean Last Hope International as well.. So I have a HUGE backlog..
