Fishing Resort -Wii

It seems like investing in your aquarium early is the way to go. I've finally got the ball rolling with mine. But that means I haven't had cash to buy new locations, clothes or rods (beyond upgrading my Small gear). This game is good... and WILL be a future cult classic! (maybe) It's very nearly a fishing RPG.

Yeah, investing in your aquarium is the way to go. Don't worry about buying funny looking clothing or that million dollar boat in the beginning. I've been to a couple different areas (another beach and I'm currently in a swamp; which makes me think of this song for some reason).

Ok, I registered just to provide this reply. This game is awesome, but one fishing game for the Wii that does rival it is called wii fishing master world tour. Definitely give it a try.

Does anyone have the manual for this game? I would love to see it, as I ordered this on ebay, and it came without one.

^ are you sure your copy is legitimate? Or do you mean you bought it used? I don't think I've looked at my FR manual even once, so I can't say if you're missing out on much. I've found the game does a good job of stepping you through the essentials. Thanks for the pointer to the other game. Can you compare it with FR a little more? And welcome to RB.

The manual doesn't have anything noteworthy; they even excluded instructions on how to put the controller together (it is pdf'd in this thread though).

To start off, I like this game better than world fishing tour. It's more challenging.

I bought it used. The game has about the same fishing techniques, and I haven't played all the way through. It has even more varieties of fish in my opinion. The trolling in this game isn't very challenging, but in this game I feel the reward based goals are done better. Same concept of catch a bunch of fish in one area, and get to go to new area. Here's the review....
Wii anglers can sail the Seven Seas and catch 200 different kinds of fish in Fishing Master World Tour. Players cast their bait in more than 40 unique locations around the globe, including Easter Island, under the Golden Gate Bridge, and along the Amazon River. As in the original Fishing Master, gamers treat their Wii Remote and Nunchuk as a true rod and reel, casting, yanking, and shaking in order to hook and haul the biggest fish possible. New boss battles have players making use of additional controls to catch the largest and rarest sea creatures, and a new "Trolling" mode lets gamers fish off the back of boats in exotic locales such as Hawaii. Just had my first day of fishing. I think this will be fun, a good game to relax with on a late night after a long work day.

Funny story from the tutorial...

So I put the rod all together and I decided "Nah I don't need to wrap the cord all around those prongs, I don't want to put stress on my nunchuck."

Well that was fine until I started fishing, I went for a big cast and that cord came swinging down at full force *SMACK* right in my tender area. I had to stop fishing for a moment.

I remember lamenting the lack of instructions on how to even put the rod together. It wasn't even in the manual. You'd think it would be real simple but a couple of us (actually earlier in this thread I bet) had to take a couple minutes and try to figure that thing out.
