Another PSP fw update (a "should I do it?" thread)
I noticed that PSP is now on 6.61 for which there appears to be no CFW. I don't think there's even a LCFW for it yet. But as time goes on, I wonder if that even matters anymore. Isn't most homebrew signed now anyway? Is there a signed popsloader for PS1 eBoots yet?

There's really no need to update. With PSNLover you can access your account and still play the games you've purchased without updating.
Don't know about a signed popsloader...

I say don't update until you really need to, especially if non-PSN PS1 games are on memory stick.
If getting on PSN is important, another way is to just use the store through your PC. You don't have to update that way.
Eventually, we'll have another CFW-pro update or something, so it won't be an issue once hackers have caught up.
But why close the door until another one opens?

I've been wondering if I should use a new CFW on my old PSP 2000 as well. I haven't needed to so far, but with all this stuff being signed anyway it seems like it would be pretty easy...

Yes sir. You're supposed to use MediaGo. I'm not sure how it will react to cfw though, so you may have to do some Google work.noiseredux wrote:wait... you can download PSP games on PSN through your PC?

I kind of think my PSP is banned. I tried logging into PSN with OFW 6.60 and still get an error msg if I try to re-download anything.

And here I was considering getting a PSP 3000, now I'm back to the iffy stage.
Re: Another PSP fw update (a "should I do it?" thread)
I've never heard of someone being banned from PSN by any means that the PSP is capable of.
Either PSN is just having issues right now or your PSP has something installed (plugins or CFW Pro maybe) that conflicts with it.
That's my theory anyways. I know you said that you logged in with OFW, but if any CFW-pro stuff was on it and never properly uninstalled, it could still be the issue.
I don't know though. I haven't logged on with my PSP in ages.
