I'm 3 hours in. I have too much to learn to even answer those questions intelligently at this point. I put 10 straight weeks into Pro Gear - I can easily see that doubling here.dunpeal2064 wrote:Details!mjmjr25 wrote:Deathsmiles. So up my alley - pure glory.![]()

Tried out Aleste for the Game Gear tonight. Finished it with 8 lives in stock on my first run.
Not difficult, but still good fun. Nice sprites for a GG game.
Compile is good stuff. I want to try out more of their games.

Final Soldier on the PC Engine, a bit easy it seems at first, but hopefully that'll change in the last stages

Breetai suggested this to me the other day, and it blew me away. The music and sprites are fantastic, and I love the weapon customization.Wim_Senna wrote:Final Soldier on the PC Engine, a bit easy it seems at first, but hopefully that'll change in the last stages
I've noticed that Hudson and Compile shmups tend to have tons of awesome, but are fairly easy. I think my only gripe with them is that the levels are a bit long. However, its a small thing that doesn't get in the way of all the awesome.
It is nice that they have the "caravan" options, so that I know I can get a full run of fun in within 2 or 5 minutes, and have some scoring challenges.

Einhander is fantastic. I love it.
Also got RayCrisis... and meh. It's not terrible but it's a bit difficult to see what's going on and it's not nearly as good as Galactic Attack.

I Was playing through salamander deluxe on the Saturn and my favorite game on there is Salamander. I like it better than salamander 2 because movement doesn't seem to be as restricted when you lose a life. Not really worth keeping the game just for that game so I probably will sell it off when ever I can manage to beat it haha.
