2600 Games - $3.00 Each
2600 Case - 65¢ Thrift Store

Bought from a Thrift store. I posted a question and pic on What is This Worth Thread, go there if you want to see the other titles. Still debating if I should go back and get some of the other 2600 carts. The 2600 cart case holder matches two I already own, now can store my extra carts. 8)

Spy Hunter and Frogger II are both good Arcade style games. Both also have a high rarity rating at Atari Age. Spyhunter is an overhead view of driving up a track and shooting or knocking enemy cars off. Frogger II is underwater, the current pushes you sideways as you hop across.

THE GAME any 2600 owner should buy is Stellar Track! Only released thru Sears as a TeleGames 2600 cart. The reviews are not that great, one needs to realize the hidden in depth game play. Stellar Track pays homage to Super Star Trek, the classic game of Main Frame Computer Goliaths of the 70s era. Once you figure it out, a very very good strategy game.

Beeps and bloops only? See how in depth a 2600 game can be:

PS2 The Godfather Limited Edition - $3.00 Swap Meet
HDAdvance Compatible - Default Settings

I bought this game ONLY because it was a Special Edition. I have so many Grand Theft Auto style games and also acquired Scarface Limited Edition not too long ago. In searching online I discovered a map was missing. Most Gamestops had long tossed out the cases, but luckily after hitting a fifth Gamestop I found an intact case. I asked the employee if I could have the map and got it free. One last gamestop to visit nearby turned up the Video Collection Ad insert and something very hard to find in any used game, the Outer Cardboard Slip Sleeve! Again the employee gave it to me free! I made my game CIB by rescuing the extra pieces before they got dumped in a trash bin.

After installing to the PS2 hard drive, the game loads quickly. A very nice surprise in the graphic quality, I mean it is really good! The opening fight scene threw me off in learning the controls. Hold the enemy with the L1 and R1 Triggers, Drag the enemy with the left stick and punch or kick with the right stick. Not the normal Soul Caliber style fight I normally would expect. Shooting is also enjoyable, a Metal Gear hide around the corner and target the enemy. 8)

The Limited Edition bonus DVD has footage in the making of the game. Also some insight on Robert Duvall and James Cann speaking parts. I like the way an actor is allowed to change the lines to make a character more believable.

James Cann: "No Balla Bing Balla Boom, Just use Balla Bing." :D

How did this not make the list! Adding to the PS2 Special Editions Guide.

Super Joy III - $3.95 Thrift Store

Fearing the wrath of Hobie, I like these. A bootleg Famicolm with pirated games and a cart slot on the bottom. TENGEN TETRIS are in some of them. I already own just the main controller, now have a COMPLETE boxed set with lightgun and a second player controller. :D

Not much today, just grabbed Outrigger for dreamcast for 5.99. More so I wanted to ask your guy's opinion on someone I saw at one of my usual spots.

I walk in and head straight to where the games are, there was a guy with a bunch of games crouched down scanning different barcodes with his phone checking the price. Shamelessly right in front of the register. He wasnt checking if they were good deals for himself, he was looking for resale values. Now I understand that most of us that frequent the "Finds" thread check values of games we find, but we dont buy everything for the sole reason of reselling, but to this guy all the games he has were just barcodes and dollar signs.

I guess my main reason for even mentioning this is the fact that he was blatantly sitting in plain view (blocking a path actually) checking how much he could resell games for, not for the sake of collecting or planning on playing them. I know I am judging this guy a bit much based on 5 minutes of being in the same store as him, but I feel that he could have been taking away finds that myself or other gamers could have gotten. I got a look in his basket and didnt see anything amazing but still...

I'm going with this - you can't really be sure what his true motives are based upon 5 minutes-worth of exposure.. I check prices in stores all the time on past-gen/retro systems to make sure I'm just not over-paying on whatever crazy markup Mr. Store-Owner is asking for an old "Nintendo tape."
You really don't know, (short of asking him, of course..), if he plans on selling those games or keeping them for himself..

Besides, what's honestly keeping you from crouching right next to him and pawing through the games yourself? You're a customer too, with a fair shot at anything there...

I agree, can't really judge this guy based on him looking up prices. I'm pretty sure most of us do a mix of both buying extra for good prices and collecting. I'll some times snag a game I'm unsure about and actually walk around the store while looking it up just in case so I don't loose it.

But If I see Xenogears for $5 complete I'm buying it regardless because I can always trade it or sell it. I'm pretty sure most of us here do that.

no offense but the same could be said for your neo geo find and my jvc x'eye. we knew what they were worth. we both took advantage of the situation.

 Fling Smash Remote Bundle - $7.99 Best Buy

@ s1mplehumar - THANKYOU!! 8)

SKU 1250347 - $7.99 Best Buy

Strange, the online site sold out, but the visit to a Best Buy store showed that it can be ordered online. Perhaps only the stores can pull from the warehouse due to the online price? The employee offered to place an online order for me. There were also some in stock locally at another store, got mine right away.

Just picked up two from a local Best Buy, the shelf tag shows a retail of $49.99. Tempted to have bought three but I needed the two to supplement the two I already own. This beats the $10.00 Red Steel Plus Packs I got at Wallymart some months back.

I actually had to go to two Best Buys, the first one had none on hand with a tag on the shelf at $49.99. The employee asked the other store to hold two for me. Drove over there and spotted two on the shelf with no tag underneath. Grabbed them and went to the In Store Pickup counter to let them know I got two copies. Turned out only one was set aside, good thing I snagged the other two!

The crazy part is no employee seemed to know about the price online. From the other store to this one. Once they confirmed the Online Best Buy price, the discount price got honored. This was not automatic until I pointed out the price difference to THEIR OWN WEBSITE! :?: :?

CRTGAMER wrote:Unlike Gamestop which has the same price online or locally, Best Buy does not sometimes. The Best Buy price match to their own web site will only happen if the customer points it out. Any purchases at Best Buy should always be checked online for any unknown sale or discount.

The Fling Smash game reminds me of Boom Blox, I'll post a review later on my Wii Gamecube Review Thread.
