I don't think it's right to punish legitimate customers in the name of piracy protection. It never stops piracy and only serves to give people more justification to do it, myself included.
If a company provides a good product and treats me right, I want to give them money to support such a thing. If they treat me like a pirate and punish me for shit I didn't do, then fuck them. I will stop giving them money.
You've never used Other OS, so how precisely are you being punished here?
And you dodged the question. Aren't companies afforded rights to protect their investments and IPs? Each side has to give a little and meet somewhere in the middle.
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and assume that Inazuma doesn't much care for the concepts of "copyright" or "intellectual property" to begin with.

Do you use PSN or Xbox Live? If so, you would qualify. You have to agree to give up your right to sue in order to use these services.
I'm not giving up my right to sue as I would'nt sue anyway. I don't feel entitled to mass compensation because some 60$ game doesn't play exactly how I want it. The effort isn't worth it anyway, id just cut my losses and move on. Might as well start suing companies that make shitty games because they wasted my time and money...
actually, this isn't helping your argument. you may need to sue Sony someday - what if we find out the PS3 causes cancer in most users? What if they start catching on fire after 8 years? What if they (again) make your credit card info available to anyone with minimal hacker skills? It has nothing to do with a $60 game that won't work and consumer rights have nothing to do with disliking content in a game.

While you're right that these are all legitimate reasons for class action suits, I personally don't see the value in them when the settlement gets diluted among all the members of the class. If my PS3 gave me cancer I sure as hell won't be getting enough from the class action to cover my medical bills, or even a decent chunk of them.

I';m gonna go out on a limb here and guess that Inazuma doesn't much care for anyone else's opinions and that this is pointless repetitive argument with someone who thinks that people with differing opinions are 'selfish idiots'. Why bother?

No you don't. You can choose to agree to arbitration instead of participation in a class action lawsuit or (at least with Sony) you can opt out with relatively minimal effort.
Really: if you are going to make an argument at least make an informed one. Otherwise, you're the one coming across like an idiot...
I want the option of participating in a class action lawsuit. I'm not gonna give up an important right like that over video games.
If arbitration was just as good as regular lawsuits and class action lawsuits, then why did Sony and Microsoft change their online network agreements to take them away from us? Are you saying that Sony and Microsoft are idiots for doing something that is completely pointless and makes no difference?

I won't comment on whether or not the awards for consumers in arbitration are as good as lawsuits, but in the hypothetical scenario where there is parity between the results of both lawsuits and arbitration, Sony and Microsoft benefit due to lower legal fees inherent in the arbitration process.
But stop dodging the question about protecting IP.

I don't see why sony should be forced to allow anyone on their service. It's their service. If they don't like you, you can't play. It may not be nice, but it is their business.
The one thing I do find troublesome is that you can no longer play new PS3 games if you want to stay with the old firmware. That is the case isn't it? I'm sure you agree to that in the PS3 system software EULA though.
Argh, computing. Too much licensing not enough real ownership.

I never used Other OS, but I like having the option. I never sued anyone, but I like having the option. I don't care if I don't use something. I want more options and rights, not less.
Punishing your loyal customers in the name of stopping piracy only makes things worse. First off, it doesn't actually stop piracy. All it does is harm the loyal customers. Just because it's legal, doesn't make it right.

Because the EULA desnt protect them from gross negligent damage. It isn't signing an at risk safety waiver.
