I haven't edited together anything in a long while, so I was looking for an idea that wouldn't take more than a couple hours to finish. This was it.
Linky:
I was inspired by the Vomitron - Contra video medley seen here:
Like that, but with better editing. Almost all the music here is playing during the appropriate segments in the game, but there are some minor exceptions. Blame the developers for using some tracks too often, and others not enough. I had to make do with the clips I acquired from youtube user lmphk:

And of course the music was performed by housethegrate:

I probably could have taken this further and did a better job, but modern versions of Adobe Premiere are garbage and I just cant be bothered to relearn some of the tricks I used in years past.
For those new to the game, this is required viewing:

Yeah, House's S3&K clearly stole the show in that album. There's a lot of entries for it on youtube even. I'm a big fan of his style. I know a ton of game arrangement artists go for the electric guitar and fill in the blanks with synth instruments, but there's just something about how House does things that makes him stand out. He's also really good at improvising new segments into the mixes. His MMX track which I featured here is a great example of this. He completely improved upon the original.Gamerforlife wrote:Pretty cool, actually brought back some memories. Now, I'm actually interested in housethegrate. They have some great tracks on that Sonic 3 and Knuckles album
