Command & Conquer Generals 2 announced, Bioware named dev

Post by BoringSupreez »

Announced by EA to be developed by Bioware, coming 2013. I've been thinking ever since the original came out that it really needed a sequel, since it's my favorite in the series. So, 10 years after the original, I'll finally get what I want. :D

Here's hoping they don't screw up like with Command & Conquer 4! I have confidence in Bioware, though.

AK47's FOR EVERYONE! Hopefully the netcode will be better this time around. Generals liked to die if you had 15 angry mobs with Anti Air...

I saw rumors floating around about this a month or two ago. Nice.

So basically, Generals 2 is going to suck. F2P, no single player, download-only. I'm very disappointed.

Things were already looking bad with their new direction for C&C4 (which was just as terrible as I feared, but dammit, I wanted to wrap up the Tiberium storyline). I can't see how an F2P model would work for an RTS. Putting in unit unlocks completely fucks over balance and there aren't enough factions to do faction unlocks. And since the units are all so small you can't go the DOTA2 route and have people purchase cosmetic items.

Maybe the Free 2 Play model will be like Quake Live. Where you buy different level memberships to play on different maps, create clans, and etc. if you want or you can play for free or maybe it will be completely fucked.

We didn't realize it at the time, but C&C4 was the end.
