You must be thinking of Peewee Herman or something. He left to become a musician, because he was tired of being "Steve." Here he is in 2008:

As a parent of young ones right now I actually liked that they gave a reason for Steve leaving and didn't just think my kids were too stupid to notice there was a new person on the show. Right now on Nick they replaced a "band member" of a group and I had to explain why Mariana looks different. I told them she got knocked up and had to be replaced with a ginger that could keep her legs shut. Well, not really, but that's what I told the wife I was going to tell them.

Isn't it "Marina"? Or is the equivalent homophone actually spelled Mariana?

Anyway, she was clearly the hottest one on there. What season did she get replaced? I see the same girl in season 3 so far.
