Super Mario 3D Land finally gave me a reason to keep playing my 3DS. It's just plain fun. Every 3DS owner should own this game. Every single one.
I picked up a sealed copy of Pajama Sam 2 at a Salvation Army on Black Friday (they seriously had like 10 sealed copies each of PS2 and Putt-Putt Saves the Zoo). Loaded it up into ScummVM last night and blew through it in an hour or so. I really love these kid's point-and-click adventure games; reminds me so much of my childhood. I'd played PS2 before but never got the chance to own it. So glad I do now.

I used to think I didn't like 3D fighters. But I'm coming around. The Dead Or Alive series really sucked me in. SoulCalibur feels similar to me. Besides this one, I've only played II, which I did enjoy a bit. Started playing this to practice for our Budget Fight Club. Put a few hours in and beat the arcade mode with Sophitia, and also managed to unlock almost all of the characters already. My winning game only took 11 mins. That's the funny thing about SoulCalibur. Seems like when you're in your zone, you just blast through. I still have a lot to learn, so I do plan to work on the training mode too. But I have to say, this game is just beautiful to look at. Wow. And the music is quite impressive as well. I'm looking forward to playing this for Fight Club.

They are fun. Do you use the esc key to skip all the cutscenes in the opening and elsewhere? I know I do most of the time.

Only when I'm traveling to a place that I've gone to before. I like the cutscenes, as cheesy as they are. However, taking five seconds to go to the next place? No thanks.

Re: Games Beaten : 2011
12/10 Batman Arkham City (PS3)
Beat the main story over the weekend, still working through some side missions. This game is a blast, I loved every minute. The combat in this game is just fun, I love the way it flows and has a really good feel to it. I miss a few things from the first game like multiple batarangs, but overall the combat feels a bit tighter. It also has a collect-a-thon element with the riddler trophies that I love, but isn't essential to the game. I thought the Catwoman stuff felt tacked on and if you're wondering if you should pay for it, if you get the game used, I would say pass on it. You wouldn't be missing much.
Let strength be granted, so the world might be mended...so the world might be mended.
