All of the Genesis games I've seen on his page are either sealed with obligatory "might be re-sealed, hard to tell" disclaimers, or they're mint, but all missing manuals -- leading me to believe he's having the boxes reproduced (which I've seen people do in other auctions).
It's all very suspicious and I would like to know what you guys think. It's a little strange that a lot of these super nice-looking games have missing manuals.
EDIT:
I came across one that did have a manual, but there aren't many that aren't labeled as re-sealed or sealed. Perhaps he's buying "like new" items, re-sealing them himself and trying to flip them for more money?
This guy's items seem suspect. What do you all think?

1.99 for a sealed game? Definitely scam.
Re: This guy's items seem suspect. What do you all think?
Well, he starts all of them off at $0.99 and let's the highest bidder determine the value, so it could be. From what I've seen, people who know the value of their goods don't take chances like that and set Buy It Now prices only.
I've seen other items where people take the reproduced boxes, frame them up in plastic boxes and then use that as a selling point. Of course, they're all magically missing manuals - despite being in mint condition. It doesn't make sense that all of these people maintained their games over the years, kept the boxes, but "lost" the manuals.

It says "custom-made box," but nowhere does it say that it's reproduced.

I gotta say, looking for a few rare Genesis games on eBay has opened my eyes to a lot of clandestine and shady business practices. Why is it that Genesis games are more prone to these scams? Is it because sellers know that the seal jobs are ambiguous at times, or that the boxes are easy to reproduce?
Hell, all I want is Shining Force II and Phantasy Star IV, but I think I'm more willing to buy a CiB item in "very good" condition, just so I can ascertain its authenticity. Strangely enough, I made an offer to the seller I linked to in my first post and he said he'd rather let the auction run out . . . I thought $30 was pretty reasonable for an SFII without a manual.

It looks like the seller is being as honest as possible. All of his NES listings mention that they are resealed. The Genesis ones say that it is possible they are reseals.

i got burned by a dishonest seller on a PS1 game. said it was "like new" with no visible scratches. However he never help it anywhere near a light cause it was heavily scratched. just gotta be careful!!
They have escaped into the mansion where they thought it was safe, yet.

There's no reason for to reseal them other than hoping people will just look at the pictures and not read the description. Attempting ot mislead without lying is still a jerkass thing to do.

This happened to me TODAY, except I actually messaged them to confirm the quality before I bought it. So annoying. Seems to happen every 1-2 purchases.jvalentine98 wrote:i got burned by a dishonest seller on a PS1 game. said it was "like new" with no visible scratches. Scam if I ever did see one.
