Is it just me, or do the guild-questlines seem a lot shorter than they were in Oblivion and Morrowind?

They seem shorter than Oblivion, though in Oblivion some of them felt padded out. Morrowind is harder to figure; you had to go to several different towns even though each town might only have one or two quests per, and you had the stat requirements that could pad out how long you spent on a given guild.

Morrowind did have a lot more guilds, though. Fighter, Thief, Mage, Temple, Imperial Cult, Imperial Guard, Morag Tong, House.

Yeah I'm disappointed by the small number of guilds and how they don't interact with anything in the game really, by this I mean it's silly beans you can join them all with no repercussions. It's super silly and over the top how you become the leader for them too.

Mage guild was fun though but felt half as long as the Companions stuff.

I'm getting a bit scared of hitting 50:

What exactly is the difference between "side quests" and "Misc Objectives" are on these two achievements?

Sideways 20 Points
Complete 10 side quests

Hero of the People 30 Points
Complete 50 Misc Objectives

I have the Hero of the People Achievement. But I can't seem to get the Sideways one. I've also finished the main-quest, civil war, all guild-quests, and even The Bards College; so this is the last one I really want to achieve before calling it quits.

Sidequests are not quests in the misc list.

Side quests are named quests that don't fall under the category of main quest, guild quest, or daedric quest. Misc quest are the radiant quests that fall under the single misc objective on yoiur quest screen.

So not guild quests, but also not miscellaneous quests. Got it, thanks. That's really all I've got left.

I'm pretty much finished with the game until an expansion comes out. Just finished the last guild-questline for me yesterday, the thieves guild. No where else to go from here except random quests from townspeople. I seemed to spend a lot more time with both Oblivion and Morrowind. Still, Skyrim is an incredible game, don't get me wrong here. Loved every second of it.

So I've finished:
-Main-Questline
-Civil War Questline (Imperial Side)
-Companions
-College of Mages
-The Dark Brotherhood
-The Thieves Guild (this one was freaking boring compared to the great stories the other guilds had, and long to boot)
-The Words of Power Quests from The Gray Beards
-The Bards College

Missing anything? Can I call it complete yet?

Eh, yeah I totally agree about the Thieves Guild so far. Especially after coming out of the Mage Guild which I really enjoyed, the thieves stuff is super boring in comparison.

is the Bard's College a full questline? What do you get for it? Can you become Bardlord?
