Off the bat, visuals are extraordinary for the Saturn. The controls are pretty simple and easy to use, but the responsiveness is not quite perfect. Not terrible, but certainly not perfect. You get a wide array of attacks, ranging from melee to ranged, to fireballs/firebreath, etc. I feel they could have done a little more with the whole jumping off your dragon mechanic. But it definitely feels like the developers put a lot of quality work into the overall production.
Once I got used to the way things work out, I started having a pretty fun time. Still get stuck on the very final boss. You will probably not like the controls at first, but I urge you to bear with them for a few battles. They are manageable.
They also managed to get transparent polygons (or rather, an illusion of such) out of the Saturn. A Segagaga Domain article reads:
Seems like grabbing a physical copy is semi-expensive, so definitely try it out if you have access to SSF or a modded Saturn.Sai- Mate have done some sort of what looks like an interlacing trick to force the Saturn to produce transparent polygons. There's none of that awful mesh shit that other games suffer from. They aren't 100% perfect however. If you look closely as the game is running you can sometimes see what looks like interlaced scan lines running through the transparent polygons. You really do have to look though and must be running the game through at least S-Video to see them.
