this was a long time ago when I had my dreamcast new.

Not sure if this is true for you guys here, but back then my sister would use the dreamcast to play audio CDs. The VMUs were always on. and that may have drained the batteries quicker!

When I tried to use the vmus, they wouldnt turn on!

So my best guess is that if your gonna use the VMU for its mini games, then dont leave it in the dreamcast. Download the file and remove it from the system.

I'm too lazy now to use the vmu games now anyways. Plus, two batteries will run you about 9 bucks.

Another game that has a vmu game for it is Skies Of Arcadia.

Of course too, if you're not gonna use the VMU outside of the DC, take the batteries *out* and put them aside until you do. Same case for my digital camera; not using it for a while and keeping the 2 X AA batteries inside it, turn it on, and the batteries are near death already. Keep batteries out of devices when not using them is a good rule of thumb to extend their life.

Tech Romancer and Power Stone (by Capcom) had really awesome VMU games that earned you points/currency for unlockable items in the actual game, so that was a big plus! Almost like a little "DLC" before it became a popular word

^^^ I think ill do that batteries seem to die(rather quickly) even if you dont use it for mini-games. I just bought a used Dreamcast for $25 seller was kind enough to include 2 VMU's. So now i think i have 4 or 5 of them. I think i will buy some batteries in bulk and keep the 2 dead VMU's in the controllers.
Curtsy when you walk by that Dreamcast
