Raiden was fine.
It's his girlfriend that drives me nuts. "I KNOW YOU'RE TRYING TO DISARM A BOMB BUT WE REALLY NEED TO TALK ABOUT THE PROBLEMS IN OUR RELATIONSHIP!"

Re: Games Beaten : 2011
It's the story. The story, although always a bit ludicrous, was even more unbelievable. Metal Gear Solid is all about story; story is the essence of the series, even more so than any Final Fantasy game. A bad story ruins a game. No story would have been better than a bad story.AppleQueso wrote:Raiden was fine.

Yes, it did have many redeeming qualities, but it's not something I'd want to play again.
Incidentally, I never played Metal Gear Solid 3, and only just recently picked it up.

Metal Gear Solid 3 is the series at its finest, but that might just be my love for anything related to clandestine cold-war era shit.o.pwuaioc wrote:Incidentally, I never played Metal Gear Solid 3, and only just recently picked it up.

I find any codec scenes with her to be pretty hilarious overall.AppleQueso wrote:Raiden was fine.

2010 Games Beaten
When i picked up the Muchi Muchi Pork/Pink Sweets combo pack I fully expected to spend the majority of my time with Pink Sweets, as it is a succesor to the excellent Ibara. So I have been surprised by how much I've been playing Muchi Muchi Pork (especially the arrange mode) instead of Pink Sweets. I won't pretend that MMP is something I have the skill to 1cc, but I have gotten to a point where i feel that I can hold my own for the first few levels before things just go absolutely batshit in the second half of the game. In any case, this is the most silly/fun Cave shmup since Dangun Feveron, and I heartily reccomend it.
Dragon Age II: Mark of the Assassin is the second DLC expansion for the game, and while it has its merits, it isn't as fun as the first one. I suppose your enjoyment of the game might hinge, at least partially, on your appreciation of Felicia Day's talents as she is in your party throughout.
I don't think I'll hit 100 this year like I did last year, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I should probably start finishing up some of those games I've played off and on throughout the year but never completed...

So LBP was always one of those games I would play it small spurts here or there. But two weeks ago I decided to fire it up from the beginning and play through it. So in about four sittings I beat it. And the thing about LBP is this: I adore it. I think it's just one of the most charming games I've ever played. It's impossible to play this game without smiling. At least for me. I think I said in another thread: "I don't wanna hang out with anyone who doesn't smile while playing LittleBigPlanet." To me, this is probably my favorite platformer since Super Mario World. What makes it so great to me is just the vastness of it all. I feel like the entire game was a constant "wow, what will they show me next?" kind of thing. I look forward to the sequel, but will most likely wait for the pricedrop. I'm sure that one will end up a Greatest Hits too.

LBP is a great game, agreed. I keep meaning to finish up LBP2, which though better in most ways, can't quite match the charm of the original (probably because there's less new to do). Have you spent much time with the community levels? There's some excellent ones out there for both games.noiseredux wrote:1. Mercs (PS2)
