What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?
Re: What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?
I'd be pretty upset at your wife right now, if I were you. Not cool to start blaming people when they don't know all the facts. That wouldn't fly in my household, either by me or my gf.

Ugh, I got hit for some small things a few weeks ago, but that's an insane amount. I don't even use my cards in very many places so anyone can be hit no matter how careful they are. Pointing fingers doesn't do anyone any good right now though. Gotta fix the immediate problem, then see if anything happened that needs to be prevented in future.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Oh, I know. And thankfully the money hasn't even been deducted yet, it's still listed as a pending transaction. The problem is more with the wife, she'll be all like "This wouldn't happen if you weren't always buying ~*Japanese games*~ online." It's not going to be a fun night in the Bone household.
Hope you get things back on track soon after everyone calms down.

My mom always used to blame my PC games when her computer would get old and full of crap. "This computer would still run well if it weren't for all those games you buy with their viruses." Not a problem anymore, since I have my own PC. And it happens to run better than any of her machines, even though it's older than hers.BoneSnapDeez wrote:The problem is more with the wife, she'll be all like "This wouldn't happen if you weren't always buying ~*Japanese games*~ online." Women just prefer to shift the blame to whatever they don't care about/don't understand.

It's not really a woman thing. My sister's ex husband used to say the same thing all the time. He got really angry thinking someone put a virus on his computer because he couldn't connect to the internet. I asked him if he unplugged his router and then plugged it back in... Of course that's all it needed. But he was so furious and blaming everyone but himself. What a dolt.BoringSupreez wrote:Women just prefer to shift the blame to whatever they don't care about/don't understand.

Indeed. People that don't or can't understand something and are afraid to admit it or are just insanely frustrated about something will shift blame like that. I deal with customers at work that blame our software for problems. Like any complex software it isn't perfect and things happen but more often than not it is their hardware, malware from employees surfing all day, or user error.o.pwuaioc wrote:It's not really a woman thing. Ticked - my stomach is killing me. Something is wrong with it and it is taking out its vengeance on me. And I cant take off early to go sleep it off.
Smiled - my girlfriend is in town in less than two hours and my copy of Blokus should be at the house by now ($8 for it new was to hard to pass on).

Work for an ISP for awhile. I had someone cuss me out for a solid 30 minutes because his printer wasnt working. I told him he called the ISP not HP and he went off on me again. I troubleshot his issues regardless, I thought since we were already an hour into the phone call it was worth it to stretch it as long as possible (call queues suck). Turns out his issue was that he did not have the driver installed, sure that is your ISP's Sales division's issue...Hobie-wan wrote:Indeed. Frown: I didn't get the Turner job.
Smile: Apparently out of 165 candidates, I placed 2nd. The recruiter called me personally to tell me how well I'd done and inform me of the possibility of more of that same type of position opening in the near future. Apparently the interviewers loved me and thought I'd be a great fit, but the person who got the job had more experience working with film. They told me to keep in touch to see what progress is being made.
Meanwhile I've started sending my resume out to jobs in Texas. I've already had that phone interview for the position in Harker Heights, and I just sent in my info for one in Victoria. Texas City and Garland also have jobs, as do other places, so for now I'm going to keep applying.

Close call Ack, keep it up! Hope it works out for you.
Smile: I myself start Monday, got most of the paperwork done and all that jazz...
Ticked: I have no idea what happened last night, after hanging with some friends I got home and immediately felt insanely sick. Had that feverish headache kind of feel, couldn't breath out of my nose at all, bad sore throat, and I couldn't sleep one bit so I've been sleeping off and on throughout the day. Ughhhhhh
Hope this passes soon and I'm 100% Monday. Seems like I always have to get really sick once a winter, I guess it's that time...
Took some vitamin C and I'm trying out this Airborne stuff my dad tells me about, maybe it'll help a little.

Thanks, chief. I am really happy to hear that you got the job you were after, too. They're lucky to have you.Xeogred wrote:Close call Ack, keep it up! Hope it works out for you.
