Advice on getting a pokemon card binder

Post by gtmtnbiker »

I've been looking for 1-2 pokemon card binders for my youngest daughter so she can store her cards. Any recommendations on which binder to get and where to buy it from?

I've been looking through Amazon and it's hard to tell if a binder contains pages or if they're sold separately. Also, it seems some binders are fixed (e.g, can't add more pages).

One of the requirements is that the binder has to have a decent picture of a pokemon on it and no picture of Ash.

I was out shopping earlier and I think I saw a Pokemon Black/White binder at a store (Toys-R-Us?) for $9 but I forget which one. On Ebay, some of the vendors are selling it for $20+ which seems high to me.

If you have a binder that you might want to sell, feel free to send me a PM.

At the very least you can get more sheets to hold cards from a place that sells sports cards. I got some of the 'Ultra Pro' sheets when I was buying fantasy art and the occasional comic book cards years ago.

maybe you can try those import stores that have cheap/crappy stuff from China.

Those dollar stores that are in every city. Maybe you'll get lucky and find some knockoff there?

Theres a whole bunch of them down where I live and I remember when ever a new property came out, they were sure to have stuff.

how old is your daugther? If shes young and likes to color, why dont you just print a pokemon picture from the internet and have her color it? Put it in a binder and you can change out the pics when she gets tired of it.

My daughter is 8 and she does like to color but "taping" a coloring page to a binder is not going to cut it.

Looking through the Amazon & Ebay listings, it seems that I have two options:

1. A fixed binder with a set number of pages
2. A D-ring binder that gives you the ability to add more pages but the drawback is that it's bulky.

My oldest daughter had a binder with 14 pages that holds 8 cards (front & back) on each page for a total of 112 cards. I think I will try to find something similar.

Are they standard trading sized cards? The sheets I used for my old cards were 9 per page.

Sports cards holders will fit Pokemon Cards perfectly. Get her a 3-ring binder, a few packs of those, and she should be good to go.

I did order 30 UltraPro 9 card holder pages from some site for $6. I just need to get a binder. Yeah, I know a regular binder will be just fine but it has to be pokemon themed or she'll be disappointed.

Young kids are not rational. :(

Nah, that's cool to get a themed binder. At least you've gotten the nice quality sheets taken care of. No luck finding Pokemon binders at any office or school supply stores?

I remember my first binder had a cover sleeve, and I printed out a giant picture of Blastoise with my name underneath it.
