I didn't realize this was a possibility yet, and supposedly the games look much better in HD. I don't own a Wii, but there are a few games I want to try, so I'm going to have to try this out in the future.

I saw that too this morning... too bad it's ISO-only. It would be really cool if Dolphin supported actual GCN/Wii discs.

GCN/Wii disks are impossible for most dvd drives to read.noiseredux wrote:I saw that too this morning... too bad it's ISO-only. It would be really cool if Dolphin supported actual GCN/Wii discs.
Easiest thing to do is get a wii, setup the homebrew channel, and use CleanRipto copy the disk to a big SD card.
Cleanrip does not require anything other than an up to date homebrew channel install.

I bet there is a good chance the Wii U will do this sort of upscaling with Wii games. I'll just wait for that and save myself the hassle of doing it on the PC.

Ive been doing this on and off for a while. Mostly to play Japanese games before I import.

I thought it might be fun to try this but looks like the Matshita drive in my ASUS won't be able to rip the discs.

Nintendo has already stated that it won't.Inazuma wrote:I bet there is a good chance the Wii U will do this sort of upscaling with Wii games. I'll just wait for that and save myself the hassle of doing it on the PC.

Wow. Makes me not want to buy the Wii U. There is no good reason for the Wii U not to upscale Wii games.isiolia wrote:Nintendo has already stated that it won't.Inazuma wrote:I bet there is a good chance the Wii U will do this sort of upscaling with Wii games. Unless they are emulating the bc the sort of "upscaling" dolphin does would be very hard, since the games are actually rendered at a higher resolution.Inazuma wrote:Wow.
