Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Do you usually withdraw payments to your bank right away? This can cause you to get flagged. Most of their 'anti-fraud' measures are just calculated formulas based on the activity of fraudulent accounts. Buncha BS but at least they finally lifted it :/

Nope, I rarely withdraw to my bank. Maybe once every couple months.

Do you use delivery confirmation? I read that if you use it they know the package was sent and received. If you don't use delivery confirmation there may be a hold on money to make sure the product was sent and arrived.

do you frequently sell a lot? Also, since when has PayPal charged you a fee a la ebay? I rarely sell on ebay.. but overall I'd put up with a little BS to use paypal, certainly beats Money Orders that I used 6-8 years ago to do transactions

Old balls thread bump

Paypal got it handed to them last night over this:
http://www.regretsy.com/2011/12/05/cats-1-kids-0/

Myself and plenty others bombed the hell out of their FB wall and every e-mail address that could be found. In a nutshell, paypal froze an account which was collecting donations to give toys to underprivileged kids for Christmas. The heat must have been sufficient, because today Paypal issued an "apology" and claim they're unfreezing the account.

One of the problems in this situation that people are overlooking is the concept of outsourced tech support. Large companies these days are using it not to provide actual service or support to clients/customers, but just as another layer that separates them from the ire of consumers, whether it's intentional or not. It's very easy to make boneheaded decisions at the executive level when the immediate negative feedback is being deflected or at least delayed by tech support.

I bet majority of executives (the ones who make the decisions and the ones who are afraid of bad PR, even if just for self-preservation purposes) will frown upon employees who behaved like the one etsy encounted. But without the resulting whiplash from social networking sites, said executives probably wouldn't have been made aware of the problem - the whole incident would be swept under the rug by the employee himself or by a supervisor, or basically just lost under all the red tape.

I'm actually going through the same problem Ryan did right now. And just like Ryan my eBay feedback is 100% and I've never had any disputes or any other problems with either eBay or PayPal. I tried calling them a couple weeks ago but the guy at the other hand was utterly useless at solving my problem, so I'm going to try again today and see if that works. I really want to get away from PayPal after this, but it seems to be the only game in town when it comes to game collecting so it's become a necessary evil for me.
