On another note, I played WWE'12 today and I pretty much hate it so far. The AI counters ninety percent of what you throw at it and is extremely aggressive on just the default, normal difficulty
I started a thread on this in the "Other" Genre folder. I agree with your point on difficulty. While I could control and handle a match with Punk (I still loathe the signature = subsequent finisher move whenever setup) but then I'm the Rock getting the crap kicked out of me by Rotundo's kid on the Nexus (name escapes me at this exact moment).

Admittedly, i've only played it for a couple of hours and will definitely put more time into it. There are a lot of guys I'd like to unlock but man is it tempting to pay the $0.99 to unlock everything in the entire game.

Oh yeah, I see that now. I'd happily post my further thoughts on the game in that thread, but I don't really feel motivated to keep playing it. I took a chance on this one, as I kind of got sick of Yukes wrestling games a few years ago, but I hoped this one would be great since it's a true, next gen wrestling game and a sort of reboot. Sadly, it's still not what I expect from a 2011 wrestling game and it's actually a good example of one of the reasons I don't really bother with wrestling games or fighting games anymore. I'm tired of cheap, annoying AI. Jobbers shouldn't be countering everything a main eventer throws at them and being super aggressive. I've actually played around with the difficulty settings too and the AI seems exactly the same on easy as it is on normal

When I play a game like Batman: Arkham City, stupid thugs fight like stupid thugs and I'm the freaking Batman and I kick their asses like Batman rightfully should. Don't give me a wrestling game where Santino Marella fights like The Rock and where people no sell finishing moves from the likes of Sheamus.

The characters move around so stiffly too and the collision detection isn't always there. All the same complaints I had with this series years ago. WWE'12 is ridiculous in every sense of the word. God, I wish modern wrestling games would grow up, much like I wish the actual tv product would

Yeah I found the wrestlers slow and stiff also....and I questioned "Isn't this supposed to be a new engine?"

Your point about Santino is dead on - well said.

Man, Raw feels like a re-run so far. Cena comes out and once again talks to his best bud the camera guy and then gets in the ring and basically says the same crap he always does. Del Rio once again makes Daniel Bryan tap out even though Bryan is supposed to be the submission specialist and is the guy that fans actually give a crap about. Kelly Kelly beats one of the divas of destruction yet again with her super deadly finishing move known as the roll up

...and we get yet another commercial for that crap game WWE'12. That's one hour of the show gone by already. I could have booked this crap in my sleep

Second half of the show a bit better, I think the only time I don't hate Cena is when he's putting over Ryder. I can at least give him props for that. Woo!Woo!Woo!

Cena could be a likeable face, if he and creative would just change certain things about his character and his booking, but it seems like both he and WWE are very stubborn. Cena will always been Cena. He tells us over and over and over and did it again at the beginning of the show. He's like a broken record

I'm looking forward to the WWE Network

I love how even an injured Mark Henry is still a dominating force. Course now that they've weakened him, it's not surprising that he finally has a match with Cena next week. Pretty obvious who is winning that, unless there is a swerve or interference. I'm cool with an injured Henry losing to Cena though

I think I actually like Funkman. He's playing a pretty good, neutral character. Sure he is heel friendly, but not in a blatant kind of way. It's more like he's playing with the faces for his own personal amusement rather than just being out and out evil

Great quotes on this show:

Punk - "You took them out? Like what? On a date? Let me guess, you went to the new Twilight movie....not that there's anything wrong with that"

Miz - "Unlike you Dolph, I don't need Vickie to get a reaction from the crowd"

Funkman - "I would like to wish John Morrison good luck in his future endeavors"

...and Ziggler, well man, he had lots of good stuff. I loved hearing him brag about himself during his match and I like how he refers to himself as a heel on tv. Him, Punk and Ryder are carrying the torch for internet fans. Those are our guys. They cater to us

Most boring quotes:

Everything Del Rio said. Geez, Del Rio. Drop the heel promo 101 book and try to be creative. Punk is embarrassing you on the mic every week. Every time I see Del Rio I miss guys like Eddie

I'll agree - the Funker was really playing it up last night and this Morrison quote was hilarious. I laughed out loud there. F'n OUCH to Morrison.

So what is Cena doing at the PPV? My best guess would be he sneaks into the title match and it's a fatal four-way. I like that Ziggler will have his match with Ryder and drop the belt, thus he should transition into a possible title match at the Royal Rumble (always an ideal PPV for experimental title matches since everyone buys it for the Rumble anyway).

Major Update On The WWE Network (Launch Date & Much More)

Image

The Sports Business Daily Journal published an article on Monday that includes many new details on the upcoming WWE Network, including a firm launch date, the scope of the channel’s distribution at launch lots more. Here are some highlights of what we now know:

- WWE is looking to launch the Network on April 1st, 2012 – the day of the company’s biggest pay-per-view of the year, WrestleMania XXVIII.

- WWE executives have told cable and satellite operators that it is expecting to reach 40 million homes at launch – a huge number for an upstart network.

- Comcast executives are representing WWE in its negotiations to get picked up by the nations other top providers, including Time Warner Cable, Cox and Bright House Networks.

- WWE also expanded its programming search beyond wrestling, which their sources indicated could include some professional team sports.

- WWE has leased space in South Norwalk, Connecticut (close to the company’s headquarters in Stanford) dedicated to the Network. WWE has not yet named a President of the WWE Network, although it’s said they are looking for somebody with reality-show experience. WWE has retained Sucherman Consulting Group to hire 200 employees to staff the network.

- WWE’s Chief Marketing Officer, Michelle Wilson is overseeing the launch of the Network.

- The article states that “most, if not all” of WWE’s annual 13 pay-per-view events would migrate to the WWE Network. Early surveys by WWE indicated that the “Big 4″ traditional shows (WrestleMania, SummerSlam, Survivor Series & the Royal Rumble) would air exclusively on the Network. Later, another survey indicated WWE had changed their mind on that plan and would have the “Big 4″ remain on pay-per-view – with the other “off-brand” shows airing on the Network.

Snookie over Hugh Jackman for A-lister of the Year

Kelly Kelly for Diva of the Year, and she's actually given the undeserved honor of being inducted by Lita

Some of the credit Cena? Wan't Rock the one who issued the Mania challenge, meaning that he deserves ALL of the credit? All that crap about him never being there really doesn't matter when he shows up at the FREAKING PAY PER VIEWS where what happens ACTUALLY MATTERS, including the biggest pay per view of the year in next year's WRESTLEMANIA! I'm so sick of that juvenile, "he's never here, wah, wah, wah" argument.

Jim Ross rapping? The dancing was funny, but know when to leave well enough alone. Very hard to sit through three hours of this stuff

Well, that explains why Lita was pulled over for drinking and driving the other night..
