Nothing's more frustrating than a missed deal. I feel your pain. In my limited experience, most sellers don't want to mess with answering questions. Just tell them you're coming to get it (with every intention to buy it of course), and if it doesn't look good, walk.

HE EMAILED BACK! Apparently he's been in Vancouver without a computer for the past week, but he'll be back in Victoria within the week. Just when I finally had fully given up on it, too! Merry Christmas, me!

Wise words I can attest to. If it seems to good to be true JUMP...like yesterday. :P

Shoot now, ask questions later.

If I'm spending this much on something I just ask to be shown that it works and. Otherwise I try not to pester people too much.

Understood. I've been on both sides of the fence, and I try to be accomodating on either side.

For example, if I'm selling and someone wants to come see it, I ask them upfront if the price listed is what they are willing to pay. It's a cordial way of saying "don't waste my time by showing up and lowballing me"...Cuz apparently a lot of people have that kind of time on their hands! :)

If I don't want to pay what someone is asking, I usually send it in my first email to them. But in instances like this where someone says "won't part things out, price is firm", I either message them if I want it or don't if I don't.

Just got back from buying the system! It's a bit musty- all of this stuff was clearly in someone's attic or basement for a while, which can frequently kill a system here in BC as, as my Dad says, "Mildew is our provincial flower".

The system itself seems to have been stored in a plastic bag, or something, however as there is no sign of mildew or anything on it. There were a couple dust bunnies in the cartridge slot, but other than that it's in surprisingly good shape. The connection cables are all in good condition, and it came with two 6-button controllers.

Both the cartridge slot and the cd trey work perfectly. Hell, this thing runs carts better than my genesis does!

The games were in less amazing shape. Sonic CD is in its original case, and the case is in pretty rough shape, though the manual and inserts are perfect. The only other one in its original case was the Sherlock Holmes/Sega Classics set, which has Streets of Rage, Revenge of Shinobi, Columns and Golden Axe. The case is pretty worn, but it's decent enough that I'm not going to replace it. The other games; Lunar, FIFA, Lethal Enforcers, Thurnderstrike, Rebel Assault and Jaguar were all in half-broken jewel cases, I have put them in extra DVD cases I have for the time being. Honestly I'll probably just print out covers for them and leave them in those cases.

All the CDs have some wear on them but are still in playable condition, for sure.

Also, there was a Strategy Guide for Lunar included. It's in rough shape- it's warped and has clearly taken a lot of water damage and has some mildew, but every page is there and is complete so it's still usable I guess.

Just be sure to double check you got the correct power supply after all.

If not, STOP. Unplug and cease using the CDX immediately until you're able to find a suitable alternative. It isn't worth potential risks to the life of such an epic console.

What makes it the correct or incorrect power supply? If it's not the proper power supply, would a Genesis one work?
