Saturn Virtua Stick Pro/Astra City to USB and others?

Post by ImportBoy »

Yeah so I'm hoping to soon own one of these monsters. I was wondering if anyone knew if it would work with two Saturn to USB coverters? For use on MAME or whatever. Or Saturn to other system converters.

Seems kind of a waste to just use it for the Saturn given the ammount of $$$ I'm to pay.

I don't see why not. It's got saturn control port hook-ups and it should assign the buttons the same as it would regular saturn controller with a usb conveter. Now I don't know if it has any lag time...

But why would it be a waste to only use it for the Saturn?!! I think it'd be awesome to have that sitting on my coffee table.(although my girlfriend would kill me)

Hope it's not too expensive.

I've never seen the Astro City twin sticks hooked up through USB, but it must work. Since the two sticks are not joined electronically inside, it is just like having two separate sticks. So it should work just as well (or not, depending on the adapter I suppose) as normal Saturn pads.

Eventhough I don't fight with a stick... that is effin awesome! I wouldnt mind having one of those sitting in front of my saturn, even if just for novelty.

If its of any use to you, I was able to hook my PS2/XBOX Street Fighter anniversary arcade stick up to my comp with my ps2 to usb converter with no problems. It just read it as a generic 8 button controller.

That thing would be great for parties!

seeing as there are no analog signals involved i'd be very surpised if it didn't work. the only joysticks i've had problems with adapting were quite 'honkanese' (my term for cheap off-brand stuff)

and if it didnt work, it would be pretty easy to solder in the PCB's from normal or offbrand saturn pads that you know do work, but i know most people don't like tearing into a 100-200 dollar stick the day it shows up like i do :)

Well, I won it and didn't pay to much as I thought I would. (We'll see what final shipping cost is though along with other items I won!). See how it turns out when it arrives in a week or so.

I also won a brand new and sealed Sega Saturn Printer/Word Processor bundle. Yay!
