Yeah, sorry, when I responded to you I had just learned that apparently my stepdad walked out on my mom over Thanksgiving, and she had been keeping it a secret from myself and all of my brothers. I only found out because she sent me a text message asking me to get my stuff out of her basement. I shouldn't have vented at you.The Last Horseman wrote:Jeez, calm down. I'm just saying, it makes a huge difference on where you want to go. Do you want a big city area, suburbs, more rural areas? West or East Texas? (Pretty big change here)
Once you get the idea of the area, the best ways I know of are the tried and true. Try craigslist, wanted adds in the paper (you can get some from bigger cities shipped out of state), possibly call the employment agency of the area.
And seriously, I didn't mean anything, it just always gets me. Like how many people ask, where's a good place to live? Well, do you like desert, rock, ocean front, swamps, piney woods, coastal plane, pecan bottoms, river bottoms, hill country.... etc. There is a lot of different areas in this state. I know, I'm egotistical when it comes to my state, but I mean no offense.
Anyway, the east side is closer to my family and has more of the things I'm interested in I suppose. I'd prefer major cities or their suburbs, so Austin, San Antonio, Dallas/Fort Worth, things like that. In fact, Dallas is a straight shot along I-20 from here.

I could always ask around for you in the San Antonio / Austin area. Is it specifically librarian work you are looking for?Ack wrote:Anyway, the east side is closer to my family and has more of the things I'm interested in I suppose. Frown: Thank you cat for waking me up. I was not sure how I was going to manage that without you.
Smile: The self-entitled pricks of the Occupy movement drive me insane with their BS. The one moment of sympathy I had with them was that UC Davis pepper spray incident. That cop looked out of line. Well, I say looked because of this video:
So I can smile again - my one piece of sympathy with those children has been squashed and my world view is complete again. That I fell for so dishonest a portrayal of the situation is disappointing but it happens to everyone sometimes, I suppose.

No, I'd be very happy doing any writing, editing, librarianship, research, secretarial/office work, or anything remotely related. I love doing research and writing, I'm comfortable using databases, and I can learn just about anything that folks put in front of me, given the opportunity. I can't program though, and I lack any sort of tech certifications.Flake wrote:I could always ask around for you in the San Antonio / Austin area. Re: What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?
Nah, haven't started that yet. I usually start by looking at universities first and spread from there. I'm currently looking at the U.T. Austin employment stuff.
Re: What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?
We have a metric shit ton of universities in this area so that is not a bad way to start.
