What was the last movie you've seen?

I tend to always use a 1-5 scale because it's simple for me to give a rating based on a 5-pt breakdown:

1 - hate it
2 - don't like it much
3 - like it
4 - like it a lot
5 - love it

I can very easily decide on one of those five options about any movie/album/game/book/etc withoutt giving it much thought.

The Guard

A rather nice (dark) comedy from Ireland that's tailored for international audiences. Comes highly recommended, even if it has little that is original. Brendan Gleeson alone is almost worth the price of admission!

Fans of In Bruges will like this, despite being light on the existentialism.

Just watched Master of the Flying Guillotine.

Folks, if you love good fantasy-based 1970s kung fu or happen to be a friend of Jimmy Wang Yu, this is one you need to watch! It's awesome, the fight choreography is considerably better than many of the films I've seen from the same era (Gods of Wutang anyone?), and the main character's intelligence and craftiness leads to some disturbing tricks that need to be seen.

Haven't seen the full movie yet, but has anyone else seen the extended trailer for JOHN CARTER? Holy crap. Do we already need an attack of the clones remake?

Count me in for loving The Muppets. It was just so nostalgic and charming through and through. I wanted to see it again immediately after I saw it. Jason Segel was just beaming with joy in making this movie, and you could tell. His character in Forgetting Sarah Marshall that wanted to make a Dracula puppet rock opera was based on a true story about him, and he was always made fun of for it, so he made it (sort of ) a joke in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, but in The Muppets it seems like he got to live out his dream.

Yeah, this is what i like to use too. The backloggery uses a 5 point scale for game ratings for the same reason, because this way 3/5 is the average rather than 7/10

He did.

I have a friend who works for Universal who wrote a script for a Muppet movie, and the Henson people actually purchased it. The premise is basically the same, but I'm sure plenty of scripts had the "together again" plot.

My buddy spoke with Segel, and Segel said "it was a dream come true". Plus Segel is a die hard Muppets fan, and did an excellent job bringing the Muppet movies back to "life". I hope we see a few more Muppet movies this decade.

Watched the Princess Bride last night. Never gets old. While watching it I kept thinking "Holy shit does Cary look young".
