The Dig soundtrack(s) are just wonderful to listen to. The Longest Journey's music is nice as well.

Um, basically, I listen to game music more than any other kind of music. I don't believe it only "works" from within the confines of the game.
I agree with you, as game music probably makes up for about 70% of my music listening these days. It's also a really good thing for me to listen to while I work. Keeps me relaxed and focused. Music with lyrics just makes my mind wander.

I like Megaman 2, 3, Outrun and Apidya. Any recommendations for similar stuff?

I don't like new stuff, it's all orchestral and too samey.

I am the exact same way. I even enjoy video game music from games I have never played.

I imported the Jet Set/Grind Radio + Future soundtracks. Other than that, I just download the odd track from Galbadia Hotel.
God damn I hate the internet.

I love listening to video game music, like others have said, about at least three quarters of what I listen to is video game music.

Sorry ya'll. I'm just not into most game music. There are exceptions, but for the most part I only want to hear it when i'm playing the game.

I listen to video game music a fair bit - my favourites:

Zoids, Nemesis The Warlock and IO on the C64

entire Wing Commander series - but especially WC 3 and 4

Ghost N Goblins on the C64

pretty much all Zelda's, but especially Ocarina and LTTP

Soul Blade and Soul Calibur intro movie music

Tekken 3 (especially the arcade attract music which REALLY gets me nostalgic eheh)

Radiant Silvergun main theme

Ikaruga

Doom 1 and 2 soundtracks (esp the one which is based on 'This Love' by PanterA
