2011 Megadeth is a lot better than late 90s Megadeth at least.

Do you not know what Tom Araya looks like?
What does this have to do with anything?

...oh god holy shit I didn't even recognize him. Geez age has not been kind to that guy.

I've not really cared for anything from them post-Seasons in the Abyss, and I haven't really seen many recent pictures of them.

Hell yeah, have you heard their last few album? Unlike Metallica who no longer has any idea what their audience wants; Megadeth still delivers incredible metal.

Yeah, Megadeath still delivers the goods. I'm happy to see them get more recognition

That's... a bit of an exaggeration. I agree Metallica has been total shit for years, but Megadeth is far from "incredible". Their new releases are competent (which is to be respected), but nothing truly great has come from them in like 20 years. Which isn't a thing to look down upon really, they've been at it since the 80s.

New Nightwish album is AWESOME. Not always metal but even better. Anette sounds much much better on this album because it was written with her voice in mind. A bit more theatrical too.

Can't wait to buy it!

I just finished that one. Meh. It's alright. That's kind of how I'm feeling about this so far. It is very ambitious, but it's just not catching me. The last album was a lot better, so far. But I still have a few songs to go through.
I'm loving it. Nice mix of styles from jazz, classical, and of course metal. I swear one song even sounds like its got a sort of tv Western vibe to it. They are clearly trying so hard to be more than just a metal band, though still metal at the core. Some of this stuff sounds like a good fit for a broadway production as there is definitely a theatricality to some of it

No way, I'd easily put The System Has Failed right up next to Rust in Peace or Countdown to Extinction. Some of the best stuff to come from Megadeth in years has come from the last few albums.
