Gaming Posters for Home Theater

Post by Enginector »

So I am an avid video game collector and wanted some posters of some game logos for my game room. The problem is I want them all to match, like they belong together. This means I am going to have to make them my self. I am somewhat decent with photoshop, but completely lacking creativity :D

So any creative people want to bounce around some ideas on how to combine these 3 things?

Things I like:

Minimalistic look

Welcome and a great 1st post with a fresh idea! :D

I'm leaning towards the Historical side, the Retro Ads appeal to me. I think if you try to merge into custom prints for a uniform look, you'll have great art but lose on the Nostalgic look.

Maybe dedicate a custom print to each wall to achieve the matching theme and also hang some of those Original Retro Ads?

That sounds like a good idea. I have been wanting some retro ads, but they are hard to find. I thought about maybe framing some of the old maps that would come with games. Anyway, here are some concepts I did for Atari, I figure each system will have a different colored background, but simple logo and text. Now to find a way to grunge it up like the propaganda posters...

Those could be really fun! I'll give it a shot in a week or so when my life isn't being destroyed by school. My only advice is to use Illustrator if you can, it's better suited to that style. But you'd still have to go into Photoshop to get the grungy look.

this site here has posted some pop culture stuff

http://www.planet-pulp.com/

Some of the OP's pics reminded me of some there.

Since some need ideas and tips, I guess the stuff in that site could be the inspiriation to get those creative juices flowing.

here, a sample of their work
