I just don't see why this can't be available everywhere.. What's the release date?

The announcement I linked to on nintendo.com says "spring". The page for the game on NOA's website says April 2012.EvilRyu2099 wrote:I just don't see why this can't be available everywhere.. What's the release date?
It's possible (well, likely) that this is a lower cost way for Nintendo to distribute the game. Maybe Gamestop saw the demand and offered to subsidize it in exchange for exclusivity. Hard to say. Still, buying it to show support for listening to consumers and responding is probably a decent idea.

Good to know, I might buy from Nintendo, despite already having a pal copy.isiolia wrote:It's exclusive to Gamestop at retail. It's supposed to be available online from both Gamestop and directly from Nintendo. sourcefastbilly1 wrote:Apparently it is Gamestop exclusive.

Quite a dilemna
Buy the game from Gamestop to support Nintendo listening to the fans and bringing the game to states, but in the process supporting a sleazy, shady, douchebag company like Gamestop or.....
buy directly from Nintendo and be stuck without a physical copy of the game
I'm sorry, but this sucks either way and I still think Nintendo sucks for not just giving the game a NORMAL United States release

I don't usually try to predict these things...but this has all the hallmarks of a future collector's item (i.e., it is a very well-reviewed JRPG with a limited release in a system's final days). I will definitely be pre-ordering this.

You misunderstood. Your options are go to a local Gamestop and purchase it, or purchase it online from Gamestop or Nintendo and get a hard copy in the mail.Gamerforlife wrote:Quite a dilemna

So if I buy from Nintendo online I get a physical copy? That doesn't sound so badMrPopo wrote:You misunderstood. Your options are go to a local Gamestop and purchase it, or purchase it online from Gamestop or Nintendo and get a hard copy in the mail.Gamerforlife wrote:Quite a dilemna

GameChamp is pissed, I bet Best Buy is too. You think if stores raise a cry over it, Nintendo will give a full release?
Re: Xenoblade is officially coming to US, please PREORDER NOW
Right. The Wii is very limited on direct-download games (50MB I think). There's no way it'd be a downloadable game for that system. You just aren't going to find it on Amazon.com, or by going to Best Buy, etc.Gamerforlife wrote:So if I buy from Nintendo online I get a physical copy?
