It's easier to just put it down in the cradle and pick it up. Plus it's better for display purposes. And can save the system from being scratched up.BoringSupreez wrote: And why, if the cradle is not required, do they even come with one? What benefit does it provide?

If you are using your 3DS a lot, you will really like the cradle. Since the battery dies in only 3 hours, you will be charging it like a mother fucker. It's very nice to simply place it in the cradle, instead of having to plug the cord in.
Re: Nintendo 3DS
I also THINK that it helps with the battery. Like most things with a rechargeable battery the more you charge it the worse the battery gets and if you have it plugged in longer then needed it will also hurt the battery. So once again I THINK that when you use the cradle it will stop charging it once it fully charges which means that it is good for the battery.

Re: Nintendo 3DS
It does that without the cradle as well. The cradle is just a piece of plastic with a pass-through for the AC adapter.sbk wrote:I also THINK that it helps with the battery. Re: Nintendo 3DS
Be aware though if you have a case on your 3DS, then it probably won't fit inside the cradle. I have the Zelda one pictured below on my 3DS and Its too big to fit inside the cradle so I just need to plug in the charger directly into the back of my 3DS.

Re: Nintendo 3DS
I don't think modern batteries work like this. They still have a limited number of total recharges and they will lose capacity, but its not like you should completely empty it and fully recharge like they used to advise you to do with older ones.sbk wrote:I also THINK that it helps with the battery. I also don't see why keeping it plugged after it finishes charging would make a difference...

Hori is fine. Screen protectors aren't like soda, there's no must-have brand or anything. They're just sheets of sticky plastic.Opa Opa wrote:Can anyone recommend some 3DS screen protectors? I hear hori is good... What do you guys use?

I spent a good few dollars on buying official Hori brand 3DS screen protectors, and I'm glad I did.
They aren't like your everyday simple screen protectors. It's a bit complicated and difficult to figure out how to put them on, but it works great.
Hey, I found a nice tutorial video, in English too!
