Re: HOLIDAY GAMING: What did you ask for / what are you buying?
I want to get my gf an atomic purple GBC with a wormlight plus the following games: Super Mario Bros Deluxe, Ms. Pacman, Galaga, and Pokemon Red or Blue (pretty much the exact same setup she had growing up). I'd love for her to fully understand what this retro-gaming addiction is truly all about.
She was hinting around at buying me Earthbound this year, and given the recent price inflation, I don't want to get too shown up. I might end up snagging her Link's Awakening DX as well, just to be sure.
I'm going to try and assist my father in ordering me a CIB Virtual Boy off eBay sometime soon. I hope that works well.
Oh, and I'm buying my grandmother some sort of handheld Solitaire game.
So yeah, lots of gaming gifts to and fro this year.

I really don't like people buying me gifts-I like buying others gifts. I feel shitty when I get things for free. Like today, we had a going away party for my student teacher in Tech theatre class. I did not bring food, so I partook in none that was bought. I had done some work for her over the time she was learning, including reinforcing the bottom of a chest an actor had to crawl into. Oddly enough, she used that as an excuse for why I should take free food from her. I tried to say no, she forced me to take it...
I have the problem though of not knowing what to buy people. My dad? Pff, anything I get him is good enough. My mom? Something Peanuts related usually works, but I'm kinda wearing that thin. I always get my sister CD's, and my family pitches together to get my granparents more expensive gifts.
My parents don't buy me video games anymore. Not since I was 10. It was them trying to teach me self reliance. It worked, and they still won't buy me games, but they get frustrated because I won't let anybody buy me anything or lend me money. I don't like it...

I buy my own games. I am going to get my girlfriend something special, though.

Don't really know what I want gaming wise this holiday season. I'll probably ask for some cash/gift cards that I can use towards a Playstation Vita when it drops here in February.
