Makes me sad. Still haven't received my refund check either. I should probably just kiss that money goodbye.

I haven't bought a game mag since the internet became a good source of video game news. It was sometime in the late 90's, I think.
Except that that's the reason I subbed T&T; game news was just one small section, and reviews were nonexistant. It had all sorts of game related stuff besides those essentials, such as a cheats section, Japan gaming news, how rare certain collectible games were becoming, etc.

All of those things can be easily gotten for free from the internet. That's exactly why I stopped subscribing to magazines. There was no need for it anymore.

Superior and free > Inferior and not free

I did the same thing with anime DVDs. Once I realized that I could get a superior product for free via the internet, I sold all my DVDs and made the switch.

Reading from paper is easier on the eyes and doesn't require electricity. It can be read anywhere without having the occasional balancing act of a laptop or needing a desk. It is slower to obtain, but it still has good points and it just different in others.

So in that case you switched from supporting the producers so they have incentive to make more to just plain stealing.

No matter what your into magazines are the best to read,They deliver update info on a specific area of intrest and in detail.

Gamepro was my least favorite magazine back in the days,I would only read it at the library or last resort news stand buy.(sorry to any fans thats my bias unappeal to GP)

However overtime my favorite mags have been-
Nintendo Power (NES-SNES era)
EGM (I even enjoyed the conversion to maxim/stuff)
PSM (PS1 era)
Keyboard Magazine
Electronic Musican
ReMix Magazine
Maxim/Stuff
Popular Science
Tattoo mags
Playboy (when I was like 5)
Inquest,Scrye,Duelist (When I was a tourney MTG player)
Wizard (I think thats the one all about comics and Awesome covers?been awhile)
RetroGamer (New found love)
and Probably a couple of other stragglers im forgetting,Anybody else like any of these? As you can tell Im a big magazine buff
If you can see the future while remembering the past, you may just have control of the present.

It's all about the superior product to me. I am happy to pay for it and support people, but only if they are providing the best product. Anime DVDs suck to me, so I don't want to pay for them anymore. Torrents are much better, although far from perfect. They can be beaten. I hate how torrents vary in quality, availability, schedule, and have random problems. If there was a way to get high quality DRM free anime downloads for a fair price, I would absolutely pay for it. I'm hoping it happens someday. Until then, the best way to watch anime is from torrents.

I like to use my money to support things that I like. It bothers me to give money to something I don't actually want to support.

I got boxes and bags full of:

Nintendo Power (Nov/Dec 89 to around 1998)
GamePro (March 93 - around 1997)
EGM (1995-1998)
GamePLAYERS Nintendo Guide (1991-1996/7) (this includes issues when they merged the Sega and Nintendo guides around 94/95)

Used to love reading Tips & Tricks, Gamefan, and Official Dreamcast Magazine where I worked too in the late 90s  I liked the Arcade Token of the month in T&T!

I like my DVDs. I get consistent high video quality and a physical product.

I also like my print media.
