At a bare minimum, get one controller, a VMU, a jump pack, the VGA cable, and Jet Grind Radio (Or Jet Set Radio, depending on region).

Yes you should be able to use a PS2 power cord. And yes Powerstone series came out in Europe curtesy of Eidos. Congrats on your DC. Welcome to the fold ;D

Go for 2 VMUs when you start buying more stuff, they tend to fill up pretty quick in my experience.

give me one good reason why i should even consider these as top priority...... A DC game will ot look any awsomer than any other system VGA vs. A/V there not HD systems, close to it but not close enough to invest the extra $$, ans wtf does a jump pack add? vibration? whoopty doo da day, we played games with out vibration threw out the generations why worry about it now unless its incorporated into the controller.

as far as the VMU thing go's i would get ONE VMU and ONE sega (brand name) Mega Memory card (4 pages each 200 blocks of storage)rt

TBH (to be honest) if you got sold a system without ANY A/V cords or VGA adaptajigs then i would recommend looking into modding and permanently adding these aditions over buying cords

If you're actually using the VGA output, the games run in 640x480 progressive, which is an improvement, given that the system doesn't have component cables/etc to get progressive output otherwise. There are still plenty of new titles that barely render at higher vertical resolution, particularly in 3D mode (Uncharted 3 is what, 896x504 in 3D?).

Additionally, most VGA boxes have regular composite and s-video hookups on them. So, at worst, one serves as a breakout box.

While it isn't the cheapest option, a VGA box is a good way to cover a number of output options in one purchase.

Oh by the way, the Disc drive makes an awefully loud noise, it look like its the disc spindle, when you spin a disc it kinda stops spinning compared to when i do it on a different dreamcast, does anyone know how to fix it?

Get REZ there is a PAL release! Its a very good Rail shooter, the music beats really shake a vibration pack plugged into the controller.

Gaaah, I hate non descriptive Thread titles! Can you put DREAMCAST in the OP Thread Title? Makes for an easier upfront of what threads are.

+1 on Rez! Freaking awesome game.

Mind you, I haven't played it in a while. I was straight up addicted to it and played non-stop up until the final level/boss, but I always die right at the end :(
