Looks like your account might be afflicted with some weird unknown status effect. Have you checked your inventory for cure items?

Maybe it's a message system where double negatives apply. So if you have one -1 message, you actually have 0 messages. In this reality, -1 messages = 0 messages, and -2 would equal +1 messages. That's some whacky math.
