Does anyone here have the 2nd thumbstick attachment? From the screenshots I've seen, it looks rather tumorous when attached to the sleek new handheld. I'm tempted to ask for a 3DS for XMAS, but know I'll be slapping myself silly when the newer model comes out with the 2nd stick built in.

I think I'll try and get myself a CIB Virtual Boy instead.

Any thoughts?
Its not out yet afaik.

The slide pad isn't out yet. It's out next week in Japan (I think next week, iirc).

Considering it's made for one, maybe two, games I doubt Nintendo is considering a console redesign at this point.

It was only specifically designed for one game by that company and so far everyone thinks it is stupid. I doubt Nintendo is planning to throw a bunch a money to get a redesign going real soon based on that.

Besides the extra slide pad is even optional for that game I believe

If the next 3DS model doesn't have 2 circle pads and 4 shoulder buttons, I will be very surprised and disappointed.

I'll be very happy and not very surprised at all.

So will I. I'm also hoping it will be larger in size, have a much longer battery life, and charge with a cord instead of a cradle.

You don't need to use the cradle to charge. My cradle is still in the packaging.
