It's not a bug pretty sure it's a common thing with 3D Zelda games. If they don't do it with all inventory/treasure they do it with Rupees.

Like was said Twilight Princess did it and I'm fairly certain Wind Waker did it. I'm thinking Ocarina did it with Rupees.

I can't think of any reason why it would be intentional. I remember twilight princess did it with blue rupees and hardly anything else.

TP did it every time I picked up anything bigger than a green rupee. In this game, every jelly blob and freaking amber relic I pick up does it to me. Once I pick something once in a session, I don't see the notice again, but the first time for EVERYthing in the game...ugh

To be specific, it actually only does it with collectathon stuff (materials, bugs), or any rupee blue or higher in value that comes in a treasure chest OR has a fixed location on the map. So it doesn't happen with hearts, rupees, deku nuts or bombs (or other ammunition, I would imagine) gained from chopping down plants or defeating enemies or what have you. It will, however, do it if I pick up a material after defeating an enemy.

Super annoying.

There's no way that's a bug. Testers would have gotten that one pretty quickly. For whatever reason, the developers wanted it in there. It's not so bad really.

I agree, in fact I was wondering what everyone was mentioning untill I read the post above yours and figured out what they were talking about, I never noticed it honestly.

Finally beat the pumpkin game, thank goodness. It was really starting to tick me off. I'm not sure why I had so much trouble with it. Maybe I was just too tired to mess with it the other night :?

After that I flew around to some various islands and picked up an extra money bag and the heart medal from the flying shop (I want's me that Bug metal, but 1,000 rupees......yikes). I'm now in the second part of the mines. I gotta say, at first I was a little concerned when I got there. I thought the terrain looked a little too similar to the volcano area, but getting though some of it now, I gotta say I was pleasantly surprised. I'll be going away for a couple of days, but hopefully I'll get some more playing time in tonight before I leave tomorrow :D

Wish I'd realized that ahead of time. Mine went *Poof!*

I noticed it, but I only find it mildly annoying.

I haven't stopped back at the shop since reaching the volcano, so I wasn't aware there was an iron shield available.

I love stopping everywhere I can in Skyloft between dungeons and whatnot. There's almost always something new going on there.
